Greenville Housing Futures is currently developing two single family rental homes for low income seniors in the Brandon Community. Our funding partners include the State of South Carolina HOME funds, Housing Trust Fund dollars, financing through the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority and BB&T. The sites are 108 West Avenue and 1110 Bennett Street. Completion of these units is expected by mid July.
We were recently advised that we have been granted fund reservations from the State through HOME funds and Housing Trust Fund dollars for three more single family low income senior rentals in the Mills Mill area and in San Souci. Other funding partners are the Greenville County Redevelopment Authority and BB&T. Construction on these homes could begin as early as late Fall 2014. Concurrently we are investigating the acquisition of a larger parcel of land that would allow the development of multiple senior duplexes and triplexes in the future. This year GREENVILLE HOUSING FUTURES, INC. will celebrate its 25th year of developing affordable housing for low to moderate income beneficiaries! We sincerely thank all who have helped us help others through the years we have been developing housing.
